ANDREAS WALDSCHUETZ / PHOTOGRAPHER

WHY ANDREAS LOVES VEE.

VEE: Please introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about where you come from and what brings you to Berlin?

WALDSCHUETZ: I was born in Vienna, been travelling around the world and finally ended up in Berlin. I would say that my wife is the reason that I am here in Berlin besides the fact that I needed a change in life….so we decided to move to Berlin together.

VEE: Why do you love Berlin and what are your favourite places to visit?

WALDSCHUETZ: I wouldn’t say that I love Berlin….i like Berlin and I do respect the city for what it is….i am living outside of Berlin now which is paradise to me….dont need the buzz of a big city anymore. My favorite places to visit in Berlin would be Tempelhofer Feld, Alexanderplatz and Oberbaumbrücke – they all give you this feeling of wideness…..

VEE: Favourite cafes, bars and secret party spots?

WALDSCHUETZ: My 2 favorite Cafes in Berlin are def. Roamers in Neuköln and Godshot in Prenzlberg. When it comes to bars I would say my favorite bar is at the barber shop I am going to quite regulary – Gentlemens Circle in Mitte (laughter) its not an official bar but still….every friday after working hours they open up a bar with some nice drinks…it’s a small and intimate situation which I like! I've been to Schwarze Traube Bar a couple of times which serves really interesting drinks and has got a cool atmosphere.

"ALWAYS READY TO LEAVE AND WORK WITH MY VEE TOTE"

VEE: Where do you get your inspiration from?

WALDSCHUETZ: I get my inspiration from life, from my fallow earthlings, from my travels, from nature, from music, from everything really.

VEE: Whats in your Vee Tote bag?

WALDSCHUETZ: My life. I carry pretty much everything with me that I need to live and survive….always ready to leave and always ready to work.

VEE: What essential do you carry with you everyday?

WALDSCHUETZ: My passport and my laptop

VEE: Favourite Vee Tote Colour? What do you associate with this colour?

WALDSCHUETZ: My favorite color is dark blue so far….i know whats coming up so I cant say right now : ) and dark blue has been my color for a long time….its got to do with my spiritual self I guess….

VEE: Working with VeeCollective – what do you love about it?

WALDSCHUETZ: Working with VeeCollective is a lot of fun. It’s a young brand that is shooting up quite fast. We started to work together from the very beginning which is always cool because there are no rules. There was a big trust from the beginning and we still develop together…. Best situation for a creative like me!

VEE: How did you end up being a professional photographer?

WALDSCHUETZ: Its all going back to when I was 10 or eleven years old. In our group of friends back then the “older” dudes all had analog photo cameras….and us the “youngsters” where all inspired by them of course. Soon I would get an old Russian camera from my uncle….thats the beginning of my photographer career….centuries later after a lot of detours I am finding myself still loving capturing and creating pictures…..

"VEECOLLECTIVE IS LIKE FAMILY"

VEE: What are recent projects?

WALDSCHUETZ: I am working on a rather big project for BMW at the moment which is really exciting. Another cool project I am working on is for a young watch brand….stay tuned….and last but not least we just finished the new VeeCollective lookbook and video!!! Wooohaaaaa!

VEE: Whats your favourite project so far?

WALDSCHUETZ: So far my favorite project is my family! Sounds komisch but its true…nothing bigger and better than your own little family. After that it would be VeeCollective because it feels like a family affair….and then  I have a lot of favorite projects…..i don’t believe in the one favorite project…it kinda means that you stop being creative….

VEE: Last thing to say?

WALDSCHUETZ: rock n roll is not dead!!!
